Donald Rencher is the Group Executive of Housing, Planning and Development for the City of Detroit. Previously, he was Director of Housing and Revitalization for the City of Detroit. In this position, Donald developed strategy and guided investment of U.S. HUD community, housing, and economic development funding. Donald has overseen more than $500 million investments in mixed-income housing projects. Before arriving in Detroit, Donald worked as a Senior Attorney for the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, where he served as lead counsel over the agency’s billion dollar single-family portfolio. He was also responsible for housing discrimination-related cases and oversaw more than 50 large-scale multifamily real estate finance transactions.
