Joanna Trotter serves as senior program officer for the Chicago Community Trust, the regional community foundation. Trotter leads grantmaking that advances equitable development and currently leads planning for the Trust’s new Racial Wealth Gap strategy. Prior to the Trust, Trotter served as director of neighborhood development for the University of Chicago’s Office of Civic Engagement where she coordinated neighborhood investments, and spent ten years in several roles forwarding the Metropolitan Planning Council’s community building work throughout the Chicago region. Trotter holds an M.A. from the University of California Los Angeles in Urban and Regional Planning.
