Jennifer So Godzeno is the Director of Leadership Development at the Center for Community Investment. She is a health equity advocate and AICP credentialed urban planner, with more than 15 years of experience in training, network weaving, and leadership development for community activists and public sector professionals. Her previous leadership roles include Director of Engagement for the National Association of City Transportation Officials, Deputy Director at the Participatory Budgeting Project (PBP), and Planning Director at Transportation Alternatives. Jennifer was selected for the inaugural cohort of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s 3-year Culture of Health Leaders fellowship, during which she launched PBP’s Democracy Beyond Elections campaign to democratize power over public budgets and policy making in communities across the United States. After growing up in the Seattle area, she now resides in Stamford, CT where she has served under two mayors as appointed secretary of the Stamford Planning Board. Jennifer holds a B.A. in neuroscience and music from Amherst College and completed the Master of Public Health / M.S. Urban Planning dual degree program at Columbia University.
