Jaime Alonso, Executive Director of GRID Alternatives Inland Empire and CCLF alum, has turned a local challenge into a powerful example of systems-level innovation. By analyzing stalled solar projects in GRID’s installation pipeline, Jaime and his team identified common barriers–such as outdated roofs and electrical systems–and developed a strategy to address them collectively. Through batching repairs, securing philanthropic support, and deepening workforce training partnerships, GRID unlocked 35 previously stuck projects and expanded access to clean energy for low-income households. This approach not only accelerated climate resilience but also built economic opportunity across California’s Inland Empire.
