Stephanie Tyree

Director of Programs

Stephanie Tyree is CCI’s director of programs. Stephanie brings nearly 20 years of experience in policy, community development and community-based decision making, along with firsthand experience as a CCI alumna. She offers a grounded perspective to guide CCI’s program strategy, learning and delivery. 

From 2012 to 2025 Stephanie held leadership roles at the West Virginia Community Development Hub, including 10 years as executive director. There she built diverse partnerships to address barriers to rural investment, expanded the organization’s reach, published research on rural innovation and barriers to federal investment, and elevated the visibility and impact of rural communities across the region and nation. She has also served in leadership roles in statewide and regional collaboratives focused on rural Main Street development and investment, including the Abandoned Properties Coalition in West Virginia, the USDA Rural Partners Network, the Federal Reserve of Richmond’s Rural Investment Collaborative, Aspen Community Solution Group’s Rural Action Roundtable on Equity and the creation of Invest Appalachia. She currently serves on the boards of the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation and Invest Appalachia.  

An alumna of CCI’s Connect Capital initiative, Fulcrum Fellowship and Field Catalyst Fellowship, Stephanie will lead CCI’s program strategy and strengthen integration with network and influence efforts. As a member of the executive team she will play a key role in advancing field-level learning, stewarding partnerships and delivering programs that help unlock capital for community priorities.
