Cindy Wu is a respected leader in community development, currently serving as Senior Executive Director of LISC Bay Area since 2020. Under her leadership, the team has invested $400 million in affordable housing for 11,000 people in the Bay Area.

Previously, Cindy spent 12 years at the Chinatown Community Development Center, where she served as Deputy Director and also led the Community Planning Team. During this time, she oversaw affordable housing development, property management and internal operations. She played a crucial role in CCDC’s portfolio growth, fostering cross-sector partnerships and raising funds to advance CCDC’s initiatives. She also advocated alongside neighborhood residents and secured over $45 million for neighborhood capital improvements.

Cindy is known for her pragmatic problem-solving approach and commitment to community-centered decision-making. She has a Master’s in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from UC Berkeley. Additionally, Cindy has served on the San Francisco Planning Commission, including as President. In that role she helped guide the city’s urban planning policies, reviewed development proposals, and forwarded land use legislation to ensure equitable growth and sustainable development in the city.
