Shanti Abedin is the Vice President of Housing and Community Development at the National Fair Housing Alliance. Previously, she served as the Director of Shared Equity Housing at NeighborWorks America, where she led NeighborWorks America’s efforts to support nonprofits to use shared equity and cooperative strategies to create lasting affordable housing, build wealth, and stabilize their communities.
Prior to joining NeighborWorks, Abedin served as the Director of Inclusive Communities at the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA), where she oversaw the administration of community relief grants to neighborhoods that were affected by discriminatory practices following the foreclosure crisis. She also led the development of research and publications related to systemic enforcement, discrimination complaint data, and the linkages between housing discrimination and health.
